Introduction
In 2025, Whyte Cargo became EQUIPR Software’s first customer in the United Kingdom, marking the beginning of a partnership built not simply on software, but on trust.
Based in Montrose, Scotland, Whyte Cargo was seeking a modern operational platform capable of supporting its continued growth while improving visibility, communication and day-to-day operational efficiency.
About Whyte Cargo
Whyte Cargo is a family-run business offering comprehensive cargo handling and crane hire services, trusted across the UK by clients who need fast, safe and dependable results.
With a high-quality fleet of cranes and a loyal, skilled team, Whyte Cargo works hard, does things properly and looks after people — upholding the values that have led the business since 1982.
Taking a Leap of Faith
Selecting operational software is rarely just a technology decision — it is a decision about people, partnership and confidence in a supplier’s ability to deliver.
When Whyte Cargo selected EQUIPR, it was choosing to work with an Australian software company operating from the opposite side of the world. Despite the geographical distance, Daniel Whyte and the team recognised a partner willing to listen, adapt and provide direct support throughout the implementation journey.
Whyte Cargo invested in a relationship with a software company committed to continuous improvement.
Implementation Journey
During the second half of 2025, Whyte Cargo implemented EQUIPR Allocate together with the EQUIPR Operator mobile application. The objective was not simply to replace existing processes, but to modernise operational workflows while minimising disruption to day-to-day operations.
Implementation included configuration, training, workflow refinement and ongoing support. Throughout the project, regular communication ensured that operational feedback could be incorporated into both the implementation and ongoing product development.
Working Together
One of the unique aspects of the project was the close working relationship that developed between Whyte Cargo and EQUIPR. With Managing Director & Founder of EQUIPR (Anthony Roche) based in Europe, Whyte Cargo benefited from having a dedicated point of contact who understood both the operational requirements of the business and the software itself.
This continuity helped build confidence throughout the implementation and beyond.
Like any successful implementation, there were challenges along the way. These moments became opportunities to collaborate, refine processes and strengthen the partnership. Feedback from Whyte Cargo has continued to influence the evolution of the EQUIPR platform.
Operational Outcomes
Although every business measures success differently, the implementation delivered improvements in several key operational areas:
- Greater visibility of daily operations
- Improved communication between office and drivers
- More consistent digital workflows
- Reduced reliance on manual processes
- A platform capable of growing alongside the business
Looking Forward
The relationship between Whyte Cargo and EQUIPR did not end with the successful implementation of Allocate. As EQUIPR released its next-generation cloud platform, EQUIPR Core, Whyte Cargo once again demonstrated its confidence by becoming one of the first UK customers to transition to the new platform.
The move to EQUIPR Core represents the next stage of a partnership that continues to evolve through collaboration, innovation and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.
“Stepping into leadership during a huge transitional period meant addressing how reliant we were on paper-based processes. Adopting EQUIPR Allocate + Operator, and subsequently scaling up to EQUIPR Core, revolutionised our workflow. Having our entire operation digitised has eliminated administrative bottlenecks, boosted our efficiency, and proven to be one of the most impactful operational decisions we’ve ever made.”— Daniel Whyte, Managing Director, Whyte Cargo
“When Whyte Cargo chose EQUIPR, they weren’t simply choosing software — they were placing their trust in our team. That trust has developed into a genuine partnership, and we’re incredibly proud to continue supporting Whyte Cargo as they transition to EQUIPR Core.”— Anthony Roche, Managing Director, EQUIPR Software
